What I am all about.
Currently, I work as an Associate Software Engineer with Quicken Loans. My work primarily involves Full Stack Development with AngularJS and AWS. I have an important contribution in gathering business requirements and in designing a good system architecture. I am an AWS Certified Developer Associate.
I graduated from the University of Iowa with a Masters in Computer Science in Spring '19. Before my masters, I worked as a Software Developer with Cognizant Technology Solutions for more than 4 years.
I started my career as IT Production Support and Maintenance personnel and then, moved to Software Development. I have a short experience as a System Integration and a Functional Tester. Thus, I possess a good knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle. My coding experience revolves around Java. I can say that I am proficient in Java. I have a good working knowledge of Relational Databases.
I possess good analytical and logical skills coupled with good coding skills which help me in delivering an optimum solution. I have worked in a challenging environment stretching my work hours to 60 hrs a week to meet unrealistically short deadlines. My experience in Production Support in a Bank has taught me the importance of user data and system uptime, providing quick but cautious workarounds in case of outages thus improving my handling of pressure.

Associate Software Engineer
July’19 - Present- Working on the Servicing Integration Platform serving as a sole gateway in cloud to all servicing applications. Designed and built the application along with a team member from scratch with using .NET core and AWS API Gateway, Lambda, SQS and Elasticache. Works in a synchronous as well as asynchronous mode and handles 6 times the present load with ease.
- Working on an Auditing Platform for extracting documents required by external auditors. Designed and built the application using Angular JS as front-end and .NET Core as back-end with AWS ApiGateway, Lambda, SQS and RDS services used. Angular Unit Tests in Karma and Functional Tests using Selenium and Protractor.
- Working on Data Streaming Platform for making real-time event data available to all applications across servicing.

Aug’17 - May’19- Research in Computational Epidemiology on the spread of diseases in hospital using data from mote sensors, processing it, analysing it, and running simulations using Python 3.
- Worked as a Research assistant under a grant by NSF on a study on the advantages of pair-programming.
- Worked as a Teaching Assistant for an Introductory Python course, conducting labs and holding office hrs.

Apr’16 - July’17- Developing middleware services for an Abu Dhabi based bank using Core Java and Mule ESB. These services have been developed for a variety of applications like ATM (Base24), T24, Avaya (IVR), etc.
- Received the Guiding Star Award for Q1 2017.
Programmer Analyst
Dec’12 - Mar’16- Maintained and supported marketing tools like Unica Affinium Detect and Unica Affinium Campaign for the client. These tools were used for promotions and marketing of the bank products.
- Developed a Java Desktop Application to calculate the CPU and Memory Utilization of Windows as well as UNIX servers. The application also automated the report creation process. It saved over 100 man hours per week.
- Developed a dashboard to maintain project related data which allowed all the users to enter their individual data and then, collated and rolled up all the data to create self-explanatory graphical views as well as excel, pdf reports.
- Received the Best Performer Award in Banking and Finance Services, Asia Pacific for 2 consecutive quarters: Q4 in 2013 and Q1 in 2014.
- Played a crucial role in securing the Project of the Year award for the year 2015.
